| 1 | Sedmého roku, pátého měsíce a desátého dne toho měsíce, přišli někteří z izraelských starších dotazovat se Hospodina a posadili se přede mnou. | And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and sat before me. |

| 3 | "Lidský synu, mluv k izraelským starším a řekni jim: »Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Přicházíte se mě dotazovat? Jakože jsem živ, nebudu vám dávat odpovědi na dotazy, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina.« | Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to inquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be inquired of by you. |
| 4 | Chceš je soudit, chceš se ujmout soudu, lidský synu? Seznam je s ohavnostmi jejich otců, | Wilt thou judge them, son of man, wilt thou judge them? cause them to know the abominations of their fathers: |
| 5 | řekni jim: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: V den, kdy jsem si vyvolil Izraele, zvedl jsem ruku k přísaze potomstvu Jákobova domu a dal jsem se jim poznat v egyptské zemi, zvedl jsem ruku a přisáhl jim: Já jsem Hospodin, váš Bůh. | And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I |
| 6 | V onen den jsem zvedl ruku a přísahal jim, že je vyvedu z egyptské země do země, kterou jsem pro ně vyhlédl a která oplývá mlékem a medem a je skvostem všech zemí. | In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands: |
| 7 | Řekl jsem jim: Odvrhněte každý ohyzdné modly, k nimž vzhlížíte, a neposkvrňujte se egyptskými hnusnými modlami, já jsem Hospodin, váš Bůh. | Then said I unto them, Cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. |
| 8 | Ale oni se mi vzepřeli a nechtěli mě ani slyšet. Žádný neodhodil ohyzdné modly, k nimž vzhlížel, a neopustil egyptské hnusné modly. I řekl jsem, že na ně vyleji své rozhořčení, a tak dovrším svůj hněv proti nim uprostřed egyptské země. | But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them to accomplish my ang |
| 9 | Učinil jsem to pro své jméno, aby nebylo znesvěcováno v očích pronárodů, uprostřed nichž byli, před jejich zraky jsem se jim dal poznat, když jsem je vyvedl z egyptské země. | But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt. |
| 10 | Vyvedl jsem je tedy z egyptské země a uvedl na poušť. | Wherefore I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. |
| 11 | Vydal jsem jim svá nařízení a seznámil je se svými řády, skrze něž má člověk život, když je plní. | And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them. |
| 12 | Dal jsem jim také své dny odpočinku, aby byly znamením mezi mnou a jimi, aby věděli, že já Hospodin je posvěcuji. | Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them. |
| 13 | Ale dům izraelský se mi na poušti vzepřel, mými nařízeními se neřídili a znevážili mé řády, skrze něž má člověk život, když je plní, a hrubě znesvěcovali mé dny odpočinku. I řekl jsem, že na ně vyleji na poušti své rozhořčení, a tak s nimi skonc | But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pou |
| 14 | Učinil jsem to pro své jméno, aby nebylo znesvěcováno před očima pronárodů, před jejichž zraky jsem je vyvedl. | But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out. |
| 15 | Já jsem též zvedl ruku a přisáhl jim na poušti, že je neuvedu do země, kterou jsem jim dal, do země oplývající mlékem a medem, jež je skvostem všech zemí, | Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; |
| 16 | a to proto, že znevážili mé řády, neřídili se mými nařízeními a znesvěcovali mé dny odpočinku, neboť jejich srdce chodilo za jejich hnusnými modlami. | Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, but polluted my sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols. |
| 17 | Ale bylo mi líto je zničit a neskoncoval jsem s nimi na poušti. | Nevertheless mine eye spared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness. |
| 18 | Jejich synům jsem na poušti řekl: »Neřiďte se nařízeními svých otců, nedbejte na jejich řády a neposkvrňujte se jejich hnusnými modlami, | But I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: |
| 19 | já jsem Hospodin, váš Bůh. Řiďte se mými nařízeními, dodržujte mé řády a zachovávejte je. | I am the LORD your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; |
| 20 | Svěťte mé dny odpočinku a budou znamením mezi mnou a vámi, abyste věděli, že já jsem Hospodin, váš Bůh.« | And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. |
| 21 | Ale i synové se mi vzepřeli, neřídili se mými nařízeními, nedodržovali mé řády, skrze něž má člověk život, když je plní, a znesvěcovali mé dny odpočinku. I řekl jsem, že na ně vyleji své rozhořčení, a tak na poušti dovrším svůj hněv proti nim. | Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon |
| 22 | Ale zadržel jsem svou ruku. Učinil jsem to pro své jméno, aby nebylo znesvěceno před očima pronárodů, před jejichž zraky jsem je vyvedl. | Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth. |
| 23 | Já jsem též zvedl ruku a přisáhl jim na poušti, že je rozptýlím mezi pronárody a rozpráším po zemích, | I lifted up mine hand unto them also in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the heathen, and disperse them through the countries; |
| 24 | protože se nedrželi mých řádů a znevažovali má nařízení, znesvěcovali mé dny odpočinku a vzhlíželi k hnusným modlám svých otců. | Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols. |
| 25 | A tak jsem jim dal nedobrá nařízení a řády, skrze něž nebudou mít život; | Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live; |
| 26 | poskvrnil jsem je jejich vlastními dary, když prováděli ohněm vše, co otvírá lůno, abych je naplnil úděsem a oni poznali, že já jsme Hospodin. | And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD. |
| 27 | Proto mluv, lidský synu, k izraelskému domu a řekni jim: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Vaši otcové mě dál a dále hanobili tím, že se mi zronevěřovali. | Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me. |
| 28 | Já jsem je uvedl do země, o níž jsem zvednutím ruky přisáhl, že ji dám jim, ale oni, jak uviděli nějaký vyvýšený pahorek a nějaký listnatý strom, hned tam obětovali své oběti a přinášeli tam své popouzející dary, kladli tam své libovonné oběti a | For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation |
| 29 | Řekl jsem jim: Na jakéto posvátné návrší tam chodíte? Nazývají je »Posvátné návrší« až dodnes." | Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day. |
| 30 | Proto řekni izraelskému domu: Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Což se musíte poskvrňovat cestou svých otců a smilnit s jejich ohyzdnými modlami? | Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations? |
| 31 | Až dodnes se poskvrňujete všemi svými hnusnými modlami, přinášíte své dary a provádíte své syny ohněm, a já bych vám měl dávat odpovědi na dotazy, dome izraelský? Jakože jsem živ, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina, nebudu vám odpovídat na dotazy! | For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not |
| 32 | Co vám vstoupilo na mysl, určitě se nestane. Říkejte si: »Budeme jako pronárody, jako čeledi jiných zemí, budeme sloužit dřevu a kameni.« | And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. |
| 33 | Jakože jsem živ, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina, budu nad vámi kralovat pevnou rukou a vztaženou paží v rozhořčení, které na vás vyleji. | As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you: |
| 34 | A vyvedu vás z národů a shromáždím vás ze zemí, do nichž jste byli rozptýleni pevnou rukou a vztaženou paží v rozhořčení, které jsem na vás vylil. | And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. |
| 35 | Uvedu vás do pouště národů a budu se tam s vámi soudit tváří v tvář. | And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. |
| 36 | Jako jsem se soudil s vašimi otci v poušti egyptské země, tak se budu soudit s vámi, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina. | Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. |
| 37 | A provedu vás pod holí a uvedu vás do závazku smlouvy. | And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: |
| 38 | Vytřídím z vás ty, kdo se vzbouřili a byli mi nevěrní. Vyvedu je ze země jejich dočasného pobytu, ale na izraelskou půdu nevstoupí. I poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin. | And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. |
| 39 | Vy tedy, dome izraelský, slyšte. Toto praví Panovník Hospodin: Jděte a služte si každý svým hnusným modlám i nadále, nechcete-li poslouchat mne, ale neznesvěcujte už mé svaté jméno svými dary a svými hnusnými modlami. | As for you, O house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye, serve ye every one his idols, and hereafter also, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols. |
| 40 | Na mé svaté hoře, na vysoké hoře izraelské, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina, tam mi bude sloužit celý izraelský dům, až se usadí celý v zemi, tam v nich najdu zalíbení a tam budu vyhledávat vaše oběti pozdvihování a prvotiny vašich darů se všemi va | For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the fi |
| 41 | Najdu ve vás zalíbení pro libou vůni vašich obětí, až vás vyvedu z národů a shromáždím vás z těch zemí, do nichž jste byli rozptýleni, a budu ve vás posvěcen před očima pronárodů. | I will accept you with your sweet savour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen. |
| 42 | I poznáte, že já jsem Hospodin, až vás přivedu na izraelskou půdu, do země, o níž jsem zvednutím ruky přisáhl, že ji dám vašim otcům. | And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. |
| 43 | Tam si připomenete své cesty a všechny své skutky, jimiž jste se poskvrňovali, a zhnusíte se sami sobě pro všechny zlé činy, jichž jste se dopouštěli. | And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed. |
| 44 | I poznáte, že já jsme Hospodin, až pro své jméno s vámi naložím ne podle vašich zlých cest ani podle vašich zvrhlých skutků, dome izraelský, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina." | And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD. |
| 45 | Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, | |
| 46 | Son of man, set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field; | |
| 47 | And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and | |
| 48 | And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched. | |
| 49 | Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables? |
