Vers English: Douay-Rheims English: King James Version
Unto the end, in hymns, for David. O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.
Hear, O God, my supplication: be attentive to my prayer, Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.
To thee have I cried from the ends of the earth: when my heart was in anguish, thou hast exalted me on a rock. Thou hast conducted me; Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
for thou hast been my hope; a tower of strength against the face of the enemy. Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
In thy tabernacle I shall dwell for ever: I shall be protected under the covert of thy wings. That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.
For thou, my God, hast heard my prayer: thou hast given an inheritance to them that fear thy name. God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.
Thou wilt add days to the days of the king: his years even to generation and generation. Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;
He abideth for ever in the sight of God: his mercy and truth who shall search ? Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.
So will I sing a psalm to thy name for ever and ever: that I may pay my vows from day to day. Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?
Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?
Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
