Vers English: Douay-Rheims English: King James Version
A psalm on Solomon. In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment. Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice. Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the poor: and he shall humble the oppressor. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
And he shall continue with the sun, and before the moon, throughout all generations. For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.
He shall come down like rain upon the fleece; and as showers falling gently upon the earth. By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken sway. I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
And he shall rule from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground. Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts: For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him. Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper. O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor. Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
He shall redeem their souls from usuries and iniquity: and their names shall be honourable in his sight. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day. My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.
And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted : and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth. I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
Let his name be blessed for evermore : his name continueth before the sun. And in him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed: all nations shall magnify him. O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things. Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it. Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!
The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended. Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.
