Vers | English: Douay-Rheims | English: King James Version |
| A psalm on Solomon. | In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. |
| Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king's son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment. | Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. |
| Let the mountains receive peace for the people: and the hills justice. | Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. |
| He shall judge the poor of the people, and he shall save the children of the poor: and he shall humble the oppressor. | Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. |
| And he shall continue with the sun, and before the moon, throughout all generations. | For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. |
| He shall come down like rain upon the fleece; and as showers falling gently upon the earth. | By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. |
| In his days shall justice spring up, and abundance of peace, till the moon be taken sway. | I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. |
| And he shall rule from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth. | Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. |
| Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground. | Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. |
| The kings of Tharsis and the islands shall offer presents: the kings of the Arabians and of Saba shall bring gifts: | For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together, |
| And all kings of the earth shall adore him: all nations shall serve him. | Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him. |
| For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper. | O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. |
| He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor. | Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt. |
| He shall redeem their souls from usuries and iniquity: and their names shall be honourable in his sight. | But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. |
| And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Arabia, for him they shall always adore: they shall bless him all the day. | My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. |
| And there shall be a firmament on the earth on the tops of mountains, above Libanus shall the fruit thereof be exalted : and they of the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth. | I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. |
| Let his name be blessed for evermore : his name continueth before the sun. And in him shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed: all nations shall magnify him. | O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. |
| Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things. | Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. |
| And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it. | Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee! |
| The praises of David, the son of Jesse, are ended. | Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. |
| Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
| I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
| My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
| My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt. |
