Vers | English: Douay-Rheims | English: King James Version |
| Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for the sons of Core. | Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. |
| How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of host! | For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. |
| my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have rejoiced in the living God. | They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. |
| For the sparrow hath found herself a house, and the turtle a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones: Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God. | They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. |
| Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever. | For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: |
| Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps, | The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; |
| in the vale of tears, in the place which be hath set. | Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; |
| For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion. | Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah. |
| O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. | Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison: |
| Behold, O God our protector: and look on the face of thy Christ. | Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth. |
| For better is one day in thy courts above thousands. I have chosen to be an abject in the house of my God, rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners. | Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: |
| For God loveth mercy and truth: the Lord will give grace and glory. | Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. |
| He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence : O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. | O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. |
| As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
| So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
| Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
| Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
| That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. |
