| 1 | And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, | Un pēc sešām dienām Jēzus ņēma Pēteri un Jēkabu, un tā brāli Jāni un uzveda viņus savrup augstā kalnā, |
| 2 | And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. | Un tika apskaidrots viņu priekšā. Un Viņa seja mirdzēja kā saule, bet Viņa drēbes kļuva baltas kā sniegs. |
| 3 | And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. | Un, lūk, viņiem parādījās Mozus un Elijs un runāja ar Viņu. |
| 4 | Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. | Bet Pēteris atbildēdams sacīja Jēzum: Kungs, labi mums šeit būt! Ja vēlies, mēs taisīsim šeit trīs teltis: vienu Tev, vienu Mozum un vienu Elijam. |
| 5 | While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. | Viņam vēl runājot, lūk, spoža padebess tos apēnoja. Un, lūk, balss padebesī sacīja: Šis ir mans mīļais Dēls, kas man labpatīk. Viņu jūs klausiet! |
| 6 | And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. | Kad mācekļi to dzirdēja, viņi krita uz sava vaiga un ļoti izbijās. |
| 7 | And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. | Bet Jēzus piegāja un pieskārās viņiem, un sacīja tiem: Celieties un nebīstieties! |
| 8 | And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. | Bet viņi, pacēluši savas acis, neviena neredzēja, kā vien tikai Jēzu. |
| 9 | And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. | Un viņiem, no kalna nokāpjot, Jēzus pavēlēja, sacīdams: Nevienam nesakiet par šo pārādību, iekams Cilvēka Dēls nebūs uzcēlies no miroņiem! |
| 10 | And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? | Un mācekļi Viņam jautāja, sacīdami: Ko tad rakstu mācītāji saka, ka vispirms jānāk Elijam? |
| 11 | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. | Bet Viņš tiem atbildēja, sacīdams: Elijs gan nāks un visu sataisīs. |
| 12 | But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. | Bet es jums saku, ka Elijs jau atnāca, un viņi to neatzina, bet darīja ar to visu, ko gribēja. Tā arī Cilvēka Dēls cietīs no viņiem. |
| 13 | Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist. | Tad mācekļi saprata, ka Viņš runāja tiem par Jāni Kristītāju. |
| 14 | And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, | Un kad Viņš atnāca pie ļaudīm, pienāca pie Viņa kāds cilvēks un, Viņa priekšā ceļos nometies, sacīja: Kungs, apžēlojies par manu dēlu, jo viņš ir mēnessērdzīgs un tam ļoti jācieš, jo viņš bieži krīt ugunī un bieži ūdenī. |
| 15 | Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. | Un es viņu atvedu pie Taviem mācekļiem, bet tie nespēja viņu izdziedināt. |
| 16 | And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. | Bet Jēzus atbildēja un sacīja: Tu neticīgā un negodīgā cilts, cik ilgi es vēl būšu ar jums? Cik ilgi vēl cietīšu jūs? Atvediet viņu šeit pie manis! |
| 17 | Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. | Un Jēzus norāja viņu, un ļaunais gars izgāja no tā; un no tās stundas zēns kļuva vesels. |
| 18 | And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. | Tad mācekļi vieni piegāja pie Jēzus un jautāja: Kāpēc mēs nevarējām to izdzīt? |
| 19 | Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? | Jēzus atbildēja viņiem: Jūsu neticības dēļ. Patiesi es jums saku: ja jūsu ticība būs kā sinepju graudiņš un jūs pateiksiet šim kalnam: pārcelies no šejienes uz turieni, tad tas pārcelsies, un nekas nebūs jums neiespējams. |
| 20 | And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossib | Bet šī suga netiek izdzīta citādi, kā vien ar lūgšanu un gavēni. |
| 21 | Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. | Bet kad viņi uzturējās Galilejā, Jēzus sacīja tiem: Cilvēka Dēls tiks nodots cilvēku rokās, |
| 22 | And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: | Un tie Viņu nonavēs, un trešajā dienā Viņš augšāmcelsies. Un viņi ļoti noskuma. |
| 23 | And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. | Un kad viņi nonāca Kafarnaumā, dubultdrahmas ņēmēji piegāja pie Pētera un sacīja viņam: Vai jūsu Mācītājs dubultdrahmu nemaksā? |
| 24 | And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? | Viņš atbildēja: Jā gan! Un kad viņš iegāja namā, to sastapa Jēzus un sacīja: Sīman, kā tev šķiet? No kā zemes ķēniņi ņem muitu un nodokli? Vai no saviem dēliem, vai svešiniekiem? |
| 25 | He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? | Bet viņš atbildēja: No svešiniekiem. Jēzus sacīja viņam: Tātad dēli brīvi. |
| 26 | Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. | Bet lai mēs viņus neievestu apgrēcībā, ej uz jūru, iemet makšķeri un to zivi, kura pirmā pieķersies, izvelc; un tu, atdarījis tās muti, atradīsi stateru; ņem to un dod viņiem par mani un sevi! |
