| 2 | And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. | fəlas iman net a ikfa iqqal təfaskay təkkasat ibakkadan nana.Maran wərgeɣ ibakkadan win nana ɣas kala kala ar əd win aytedan kul daɣ əddənet. |
| 3 | And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. | As nətamazal arat kul w'as dana omar Əlməsix wədi ad nəssən as nəssan tu. |
| 4 | He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. | As inna awedan ənta issan tu ənta maran wər itəmizil arat w'as omar wədi awedan anasbahu a imos isitaddan as wər iha tidət. |
| 5 | But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. | Mišan wa itamazalan s awal net tənifalal daɣ as tara ən Məššina təkmalat.Ənta da əmmək w'as nəssan as nərtay dər əs: |
| 6 | He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. | Wa innan iha Əlməsix iman net ihor d igi ən təməddurt ta iga Əlməsix. |
| 7 | Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning. | Imidawan in ən maran in ammar wa kawan tagga da wər imos arat aynayan a dawan in kattaba, ammar awa wanad da irəwan a, təgrawam harwa da tizarat imosan isalan win as təslam. |
| 8 | Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. | Mišan ya imos ammar izrayan wa dawan in kattaba. Tišit net arat izrayan tənifalal daɣ wan kawanay d Əlməsix,fəlas šiyyay a tamattatnen itaggaz d'ənnur wan tidət šinn əmələwləw. |
| 9 | He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. | Wa innan ənta iha ənnur ənta imminzaɣ amadray nnet wədi harwada iha šiyyay. |
| 10 | He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. | Wa iran amadray nnet wədi ənnur a iha maran as zama iha ənnur wədi wər tu təlla təsənkəft ta tu za taggadlit. |
| 11 | But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. | Mišan wa igzaran amadray nnet wədi šiyyay a iha, ijiwankat daɣ asnat wər issen s'as idag fəlas əsidarɣalnat tu. |
| 12 | I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. | Bararan əkattabaɣ awan in arat wa: ibakkadan nawan ətiwasarafan awan s əddəlil n arat wa iga ɣaysa Əlməsix. |
| 13 | I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. | Abbatan əkattabaɣ awan in arat wa: təssanam wa tt'imalan dat əxluk. Aytedan win madrornen əkattabaɣ awan in arat wa fəlas assahat a təgam daɣ tarrayt ta n Məššina tornam əlxəkum wa nn iblis. |
| 14 | I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. | |
| 15 | Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. | Ad wər tirem əddənet wala tirem arat a tat ihan təl'ay. As ira awedan əddənet tara ta nn Abba wər tu za təggəz. |
| 16 | For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. | Daɣ adi aratan kul win əmosnen inn əddənet a: tara ən man,manzaɣ ibaragan, ibaragan win təla nn əddənet, aratan win kul wər d'əfelan Abba inn əddənet. |
| 17 | And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. | Əddənet əd win tat aranen ad əɣrədan mišan win əlkamnen i tara ən Məššina win di ad əɣləsan har faw. |
| 18 | Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. | Bararan in tilkamat n assaɣat tənta.Təslam as add asu awedan imosan əllid n Əlməsix. Əmərədda aytedan aggotnen add'osanen əmosnen əllid net. Arat wa da a dana issosanan as təmasatant tənda. |

| 20 | But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. | Mis-n kawanay təgrawam infas wa zəddigan w'as kawan izway wa zəddigan. |
| 21 | I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. | Akatab əsaglaɣ awan t'in wərgeɣ fəlas wər təssenam tidət kala kala ar fəlas tat təssanam maran wər t'illa bahu wa du z'igmədan daɣ tidət. |
| 22 | Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. | Daɣ adu məni tu anasbahu? Ənta əddi inkaran as ɣaysa ənta Əlməsix. Fəlas wa imosan əllid n Əlməsix ənta a ugayan əs masnat fəl Abba əd barar. |
| 23 | Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. | I inkaran as ɣaysa barar wədi wər issen abba ənta da. |
| 24 | Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. | Adi da fəlas sənnəhəlat iduf ən salan win təgrawam daɣ tizarat. | 26 | These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. | Daɣ əddəlil n aytedan win kawan saxraknen a fəl awan in kattabaɣ aratan win. |
| 27 | But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in h | Maran kawanay infas w'as kawan izway Əlməsix ih'iwan. | 28 | And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. | Bararn in akniwat tassaq d Əlməsix fəlas as du z'inəfiləl da nəkkas aššak fəl man nana,wər dər əs nənamaggag wər dana təbez takarakit ɣur assa nnet. |
| 29 | If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. | Təssanam as Əlməsix əməllil n əššəriɣa a imos daɣ adi əlmədat as awedan kul isandan əmazal s əššəriɣa ənta add'igmad. |
