Vers | English: King James Version | Turkish |
| My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; | Oğlum, bilgeliğe kulak verip Yürekten akla yönelerek Sözlerimi kabul eder, Buyruklarımı aklında tutarsan, |
| So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
| Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; | Evet, aklı çağırır, Ona gönülden seslenirsen, |
| If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; | Gümüş ararcasına onu ararsan, Onu ararsan define arar gibi, |
| Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. | RAB korkusunu anlar Ve Tanrıyı yakından tanırsın. |
| For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. | Çünkü bilgeliğin kaynağı RABdir. Onun ağzından bilgi ve anlayış çıkar. |
| He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. | Doğru kişileri başarıya ulaştırır, Kalkanıdır dürüst yaşayanların. |
| He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. | Adil olanların adımlarını korur, Sadık kullarının yolunu gözetir. |
| Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. | O zaman anlarsın her iyi yolu, Neyin doğru, haklı ve adil olduğunu. |
| When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; | Çünkü yüreğin bilgelikle dolacak, Zevk alacaksın bilgiden. |
| Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: | Sağgörü sana bekçilik edecek Ve akıl seni koruyacak. |
| To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; | Bunlar seni kötü yoldan, Ahlaksızın sözlerinden kurtaracak. |
| Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; | Onlar ki karanlık yollarda yürümek için Doğru yoldan ayrılırlar. |
| Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; | Kötülük yapmaktan hoşlanır, Zevk alırlar kötülüğün aşırısından. |
| Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: | Yolları dolambaçlı, Yaşayışları çarpıktır. |
| To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; | Bilgelik, gençken evlendiği eşini terk eden, Tanrının önünde içtiği andı unutan ahlaksız kadından, Sözleriyle yaltaklanan Vefasız kadından seni kurtaracak. |
| Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
| For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. | O kadının evi insanı ölüme, Yolları ölülere götürür. |
| None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. | Ona gidenlerden hiçbiri geri dönmez, Yaşam yollarına erişmez. |
| That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. | Bu nedenle sen iyilerin yolunda yürü, Doğruların izinden git. |
| For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. | Çünkü ülkede yaşayacak olan doğrulardır, Dürüst kişilerdir orada kalacak olan. |
| But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it. | Kötüler ülkeden sürülecek, Hainler sökülüp atılacak. |
