Vers | English: King James Version | Turkish |
| I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath. | RABbin gazap değneği altında acı çeken adam benim. |
| He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light. | Beni güttü, Işıkta değil karanlıkta yürüttü. |
| Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day. | Evet, dönüp dönüp bütün gün bana elini kaldırıyor. |
| My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones. | Etimi, derimi yıprattı, kemiklerimi kırdı. |
| He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail. | Beni kuşattı, Acı ve zahmetle sardı çevremi. |
| He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old. | Çoktan ölmüş ölüler gibi Beni karanlıkta yaşattı. |
| He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy. | Çevreme duvar çekti, dışarı çıkamıyorum, Zincirimi ağırlaştırdı. |
| Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer. | Feryat edip yardım isteyince de Duama set çekiyor. |
| He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked. | Yontma taşlarla yollarımı kesti, Dolaştırdı yollarımı. |
| He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places. | Benim için O pusuya yatmış bir ayı, Gizlenmiş bir aslandır. |
| He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate. | Yollarımı saptırdı, paraladı, Mahvetti beni. |
| He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow. | Yayını gerdi, okunu savurmak için Beni nişangah olarak dikti. |
| He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins. | Oklarını böbreklerime sapladı. |
| I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day. | Halkımın önünde gülünç düştüm, Gün boyu alay konusu oldum türkülerine. |
| He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood. | Beni acıya doyurdu, Bana doyasıya pelinsuyu içirdi. |
| He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. | Dişlerimi çakıl taşlarıyla kırdı, Kül içinde diz çöktürdü bana. |
| And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity. | Esenlik yüzü görmedi canım, Mutluluğu unuttum. |
| And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD: | Bu yüzden diyorum ki, ‹‹Dermanım tükendi, RABden umudum kesildi.›› |
| Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. | Acımı, başıboşluğumu, Pelinotuyla ödü anımsa! |
| My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. | Hâlâ onları düşünmekte Ve sıkılmaktayım. |
| This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. | Ama şunu anımsadıkça umutlanıyorum: |
| It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. | RABbin sevgisi hiç tükenmez, Merhameti asla son bulmaz; sayesinde yok olmadık.›› |
| They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. | Her sabah tazelenir onlar, Sadakatin büyüktür. |
| The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. | ‹‹Benim payıma düşen RABdir›› diyor canım, ‹‹Bu yüzden Ona umut bağlıyorum.›› |
| The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. | RAB kendisini bekleyenler, Onu arayan canlar için iyidir. |
| It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. | RABbin kurtarışını sessizce beklemek iyidir. |
| It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. | İnsan için boyunduruğu gençken taşımak iyidir. |
| He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him. | RAB insana boyunduruk takınca, İnsan tek başına oturup susmalı; |
| He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope. | Umudunu kesmeden yere kapanmalı, |
| He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach. | Kendisine vurana yanağını dönüp Utanca doymalı; |
| For the Lord will not cast off for ever: | Çünkü Rab kimseyi sonsuza dek geri çevirmez. |
| But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. | Dert verse de, Büyük sevgisinden ötürü yine merhamet eder; |
| For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. | Çünkü isteyerek acı çektirmez, İnsanları üzmez. |
| To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth, | Ülkedeki bütün tutsakları ayak altında ezmeyi, |
| To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, | Yüceler Yücesinin huzurunda insan hakkını saptırmayı, |
| To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not. | Davasında insana haksızlık etmeyi Rab doğru görmez. |
| Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? | Rab buyurmadıkça kim bir şey söyler de yerine gelir? |
| Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? | İyilikler gibi felaketler de Yüceler Yücesinin ağzından çıkmıyor mu? |
| Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? | İnsan, yaşayan insan Niçin günahlarının cezasından yakınır? |
| Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. | Davranışlarımızı sınayıp gözden geçirelim, Yine RABbe dönelim. |
| Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. | Ellerimizin yanısıra yüreklerimizi de göklerdeki Tanrıya açalım: |
| We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. | ‹‹Biz karşı çıkıp başkaldırdık, Sen bağışlamadın. |
| Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied. | Öfkeyle örtünüp bizi kovaladın, Acımadan öldürdün. |
| Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through. | Dualar sana erişmesin diye Bulutları örtündün. |
| Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people. | Uluslar arasında bizi pisliğe, süprüntüye çevirdin. |
| All our enemies have opened their mouths against us. | Düşmanlarımızın hepsi bizimle alay etti. |
| Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction. | Dehşet ve çukur, kırgın ve yıkım çıktı önümüze.›› |
| Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people. | Kırılan halkım yüzünden Gözlerimden sel gibi yaşlar akıyor. |
| Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission, | Durup dinmeden yaş boşanıyor gözümden, |
| Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven. | RAB göklerden bakıp görünceye dek. |
| Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city. | Kentimdeki kızların halini gördükçe Yüreğim sızlıyor. |
| Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause. | Boş yere bana düşman olanlar bir kuş gibi avladılar beni. |
| They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me. | Beni sarnıca atıp öldürmek istediler, Üzerime taş attılar. |
| Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off. | Sular başımdan aştı, ‹‹Tükendim›› dedim. |
| I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon. | Sarnıcın dibinden seni adınla çağırdım, ya RAB; |
| Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry. | Sesimi, ‹‹Ahıma, çağrıma kulağını kapama!›› dediğimi duydun. |
| Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not. | Seni çağırınca yaklaşıp, ‹‹Korkma!›› dedin. |
| O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life. | Davamı sen savundun, ya Rab, Canımı kurtardın. |
| O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause. | Bana yapılan haksızlığı gördün, ya RAB, Davamı sen gör. |
| Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me. | Benden nasıl öç aldıklarını, Bana nasıl dolap çevirdiklerini gördün. |
| Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me; | Aşağılamalarını, ya RAB, Çevirdikleri bütün dolapları, Bana saldıranların dediklerini, Gün boyu söylendiklerini duydun. |
| The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day. | |
| Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick. | Oturup kalkışlarına bak, Alay konusu oldum türkülerine. |
| Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands. | Yaptıklarının karşılığını ver, ya RAB. |
| Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them. | İnat etmelerini sağla, Lanetin üzerlerinden eksilmesin. |
| Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD. | Göklerinin altından öfkeyle kovala, yok et onları, ya RAB. |
